Description
The Winton Wetlands near Benalla, Victoria were turned into a dam. However, the evaporation rate of water was greater than available water for irrigation. Eventually, the reservoir was drained, and the wetlands were allowed to recover. Hundreds of drowned River Redgums were left as mute testimony to their decades underwater.
On a day of intermittent rain showers the trees stand in stark relief against stormy skies.
