How large can a photo be printed without losing quality?

There are two things at play here –

1. 1. How many pixels the image has,
   2. How close up/far away you want to view the printed photo.

When deciding how large to print a photo I work to make a happy marriage between these two factors. This means that not every photo offered for sale will be poster size and beyond. (Some artworks are offered in smaller sizes simply so they can be placed in smaller spaces or hung in groups.)
